BUENOS AIRES, Argentina — Lionel Messi was unharmed when a youngster apparently threw a punch at him as he was leaving a restaurant in his home city of Rosario on Thursday.
The assailant was among a throng of people looking for autographs from the Barcelona star, a witness told Argentine TV. It was not clear if the punch landed, or what the intent was. Messi went on signing autographs.
“There was a crush of people waiting outside,” Pablo Moyano, who was working in the restaurant, told Argentine TV. “There were kids, reporters, photographers waiting … and one of the kids tried to punch him. I don’t know if he pulled it off. He went running afterward.”
Associated Press photographer Jose Granta, who was covering Messi on Thursday, said the youth raced off.
Other witnesses said the suspect was dressed in the uniform of a school a few streets away.
Messi tried to play down the incident on his Facebook page.
“To relax all those people that have asked us about the truth of the accident coming out of the restaurant, tell them I did not receive any blow from anyone. I’m perfectly OK,” he wrote.
Messi arrived in Rosario, about 500 kilometers (300 miles) north of Buenos Aires, this week for a holiday before practice starts next week for the Copa America — the South American championship. The Copa America opens July 1 with Argentina facing Bolivia.

Rod Stewart - The grave digger
Rod Stewart is the youngest of five children and was born in Highgate, North London to parents who owned a newsagents shop there. Minutes before Stewart was born, a German V-2 rocket scored a direct hit on Highgate Police Station just down the street. Rod Stewart had trials with the football clubs Celtic, and Brentford (based in West London). He then worked as a grave digger. He soon switched to a career in music joining folk singer Wizz Jones in the early 1960s as a street singer travelling around Europe; this resulted in his being deported from Spain for vagrancy.

No 10. Eric Corley
Better known by his pseudonym Emmanuel Goldstein, Eric Corley was a well-known hacker in the 80s and 90s. He faced trial in 1999 for sharing DeCSS codes and a method to download them. The codes allowed for decrypting of encrypted DVDs. His court case was the first to test the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
Today, he owns a non-profit organization called the 2600 Enterprises, Inc. and publishes a magazine called 2600: The Hacker Quarterly.
In 2001, he took part in a demonstration against the jailing of Kevin Mitnick and in 2004 was arrested for videotaping the demonstration and was charged with disorderly conduct.
No 9. Robert T. Morris, Jr
In 1988, the Morris worm was created and Robert T. Morris, Jr was the one who created it. It was a first ever computer worm. He was a student at Cornell when he set off the worm from MIT, from MIT so as to hide his tracks. According to Morris, he just wanted to know the number of computers connected to the internet. The unintentional damages caused by the worm ranged in between $20,000 to $530,000. Morris did community service for the damages and was set free.
Currently, he is a teacher in the field of computer science and electrical engineering at MIT.

"China will continue staunchly supporting Pakistan developing and implementing its own anti-terror strategy based on its own national conditions."
China and Pakistan call each other "all-weather friends" and their close ties have been underpinned by longstanding wariness of their common neighbor, India, and a desire to hedge against U.S. influence in the region.
