Volvo s60
Volvo S60 is a entry-level luxury car / compact executive car built by Volvo that was first introduced in 2000. It uses the Volvo P2 platform, which is shared with the Volvo V70, Volvo S80 and Volvo XC90. It was one of the first "curvy Volvos" designed by Peter Horbury and appropriately used the tagline "Revolvolution" in its advertising campaign. The model was refreshed in 2004.

2011 Volvo Sport Sedan C70 is a convertible model, manufactured since 1997. This model is in its second generation. First generation model was offered with soft top convertibles and second generation models are installed with retractable hardtop. Second generation model was launched in 2006 and this model is based on Volvo P1 platform. New generation Volvo C70 is installed with advanced accessories like LED tail lamp, sleeker headlamps and many other accessories. 2011 Volvo C70 is a luxurious convertible model which offers smooth and comfortable drive experience. This new model is likely to face some tough competition from other convertible models like Infinity G37, Volkswagen Eos, Lexus IS 250 C and BMW 3 series.

At the Los Angeles Design Challenge Competition, Volvo took the open-air experience at a whole new level with its ‘lighter than a Formula 1 racing car’ study project – the Volvo Air Motion. Besides its strong yet ultra-light body structure, the Air Motion concept cars vehicle further adds to its superlatives eco-friendliness, as it is not using a single drop of gasoline while driving wild.
Volvo Air Motion is a sports cars that runs on powerful, yet simple compressed air motors that, unlike an internal combustion engine, cools down under load rather than heat up. The air tank is centrally mounted and receives compressed air through wind-powered air replenishment sites that float 1000ft in the air. Its beautiful Scandinavian body is designed like a clam shell and sculptured from ultra light carbon fiber.

The 2010 Volvo Sport Cars Air Motion Concept was developed around the idea that minimizing the weight and complexity means maximizing driving enjoyment. Volvo built the cars with fewer components and replaced the heavy internal combustion engine with powerful, yet simple, compressed air motors.
To compress the air needed for the centrally mounted air tank, Air Replenishment Sites are used. Powered by air turbines floating 1,000ft in the air they harness the power of the wind and convert it to electricity to provide the compression. The motors cool down with increased load, instead of heating up, which eliminates the need for cooling systems. The chassis, interior and suspension employ an integrated design which brings a notable contribution to the lowered weight.

Volvo is ready kicked off with an environmentally friendly product. This week, the Swedish manufacturer that states are ready to release 10 units of electric vehicles on the C30 to the market this spring. The C30 power in Detroit is a product that much more complete, "said Lennart Stegland, Director Volvo Cars Special Vehicles.

For 2011, they also get a redesigned front clip with new nose, fenders, grille, headlights, and spoiler. An extra-large Volvo iron mark is included in the mix, while additional body-colored trim can be found throughout its exterior.Performance buffs should take notice of the new R-Design edition wearing a new aggressive aerodynamic kit, a 10-mm. lower ride height, and 18-in. wheels. Power from the five-banger remains the same, but engineers were diligent in their tuning of the car's suspension bits. Stiffer bushings, 30% stiffer springs, and stiffer roll bars aid handling feel. A 10% quicker steering ratio allows for better turn in and response.

Volvo, the Swedish unit of Ford Motor Co., will not participate in the Tokyo Motor Show this fall.
"We have evaluated our participation at motor shows for 2009 to see how we can make the most out of our resources, and this year we decided not to participate at Tokyo," Volvo spokeswoman Maria Bohlin said today in an e-mail.
Ford Motor Co. said earlier this week it would not participate in the show, but a spokeswoman said she could not comment on plans for Volvo or Mazda Motor Corp.
Mazda will participate in this year's show. Last year, Ford raised $540 million by cutting its stake in Mazda from 33.4 percent to just over 13 percent, but the two automakers will continue joint ventures and the sharing of vehicle platforms and powertrains.
Ford joined General Motors and Chrysler LLC in skipping the event this year. Pullouts by non-Japanese automakers and concerns raised by some Japanese automakers stemming from the global auto sales slowdown have cast doubt on whether the October 21-22 show will take place.
The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association will decide by early next month whether to postpone the show, Toshihiro Iwatake, JAMA's executive director, told Automotive News earlier this week.
If the event is canceled, the next Tokyo Motor Show would be in 2011, Iwatake said.
Several auto companies pulled out of the Detroit auto show, which opens to the public tomorrow. The missing companies included Nissan Motor Co., Suzuki Motor Corp., Porsche AG, Rolls-Royce and Land Rover. Mitsubishi Motors Corp. canceled its corporate presence, but local Mitsubishi dealers put together an exhibit.
Some participating automakers, including federal loan recipients Chrysler LLC and General Motors, toned down their Detroit displays and built single-story exhibition stands to save money.

A six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive will be standard on 2011 models. We anticipate the 200-hp turbocharged four-cylinder with a choice of gearboxes will be offered later, but that, of course, speculation on our side.
