The engine bay of the Chrysler Crossfire is visually similar to the Mercedes Benz SLK320, which was built on the R170 platform. This engine housing bay proved to be reliable option when it came to housing Mercedes V8 engines, and this escalates the performance of the car significantly. Even the wheel base of the car and the track width is similar to the Mercedes Benz SLK320.
The same seats that were used in the Mercedes Benz SLK320 have now been used in the Crossfire chassis. The car comes with a standard transmission of 6 speeds manual but an optional 5 speed automatic transmission is also available. The standard models come with a 3.2L, 18 valve, SOHC V6 engine which is capable of producing 215 horse power and approximately 310 Nm of torque.
