Lamborghini Countach Wallpaper
The recently launched Lamborghini Reventon is a classic example of a car that is designed for greatness and exclusivity. One of these cars that not only if you have to ask the price you can’t afford it, if you had the money to buy one, Lamborghini might not even agree to sell you one. Only twenty of these cars will be constructed and it appears that they have already all been sold, by invitation only.

The 2007 Reventon is a step back in tradition for Lamborghini, recalling some of the classic models that the company produced in their days of glory. Designed entirely in the company’s Sant’Agata Bolognese style center, the Reventon follows in the tire tracks of the classis Lamborghini models of the sixties and seventies.

Yet the Reventon is a car of the 21st century, featuring cutting edge technologies drawn from Audi, Lamborghini’s parent company. Named after a legendary “fighting bull” and inspired by the design of a fighter jet, the Reventon has the power and the lines to make it a unique road car. How many Reventons will actually be driven remains an object for conjecture and most of them will remain part of private collections stored and displayed around the globe.

With it’s bodywork manufactured using super tough carbon fiber panels, and head and taillights designed in LED, The Lamborghini Reventon is bound to be an eye catcher and a conversation stopper whenever it is allowed to hit the road.

The mechanical specifications of the Reventon are loosely based on the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, a car that was highly successful in its own right. Where the Lamborghini development engineers have really gone to town is in the exterior design of the Reventon, which can only be described as breathtaking revolutionary. With an arrow shaped front which is so acutely angled to be almost phallic, the Reventon represents a new generation of art form in car design.

Accentuated by the Lamborghini classic scissor doors, the Reventon is a car that cries out for its owners to have been blessed with the same sleek lines that she possesses. Typically low slung, the car is not for the overly tall or those carrying too much excess weight. Like previous models from Lamborghini, the car is one to be seen whilst driving it or standing beside it, but not necessarily one to be seen getting in and out of.

The paintwork on the Reventon was chosen to be understated to accentuate the car’s exotic styling. Combining the colors of olive green and grey which would be considered drab on any other Lamborghini, the Reventon carries her livery with style. The car’s interior is lined with a combination of leather and a limited edition color olive version of the exceptionally sumptuous synthetic suede like Alcantara material, used in the interior trims of some of the finest luxury cars to grace the road.

It goes without saying that the interior of the Reventon is something special. The driver and passenger seats are made from carbon fiber and upholstered in Alcantara for comfort. With a steering wheel designed to tilt and telescope to suit any posture, the car is very comfortable to sit in and drive, especially when compared to some previous Lamborghinis. Another indication of the positive luxury of the Reventon is her state of the art instrument panel. Produced using TFT liquid crystal, the panel provides such varied and comprehensive information allowing the driver to keep his or her finger on the pulse of what is happening in and around the car.

Mechanically the Reventon is a classic. It’s super powerful, 12 cylinder engine roars instantly into life at the first press of her starter, and the familiar high pitched whining roar of her exhaust will send shivers down the spine of even the most apathetic. Boasting an e-gear transmission that is as smooth as velvet all through her six speeds, the Reventon will reach a speed 60 mph in an eye blinking and effortless 3.4 seconds. Lamborghini guarantees that the Reventon’s engine will be capable of reaching a mind boggling 650 break horse powers at 8,000 revolutions per minute (rpm).

The Reventon is capable of reaching speeds or up to 200mph (340kph) and while road holding has always been a strong suit with Lamborghini, the Reventon is no exception even when being driven flat out. With a suspension that is taut allowing the driver to feel the road bellow, the traction that the car generates will allow it to hold the road in any condition. Although with a seven figure price tag, it is very doubtful that anyone would have the nerve or the abandon to ever try!

Designed as a limited edition, numbered collector’s car from concept and birth, the question will be for lover’s of automotive beauty, is if ever they will have the privilege to ever see a Lamborghini Reventon being driven on the open road.
