New 2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD,Heavy-duty Pickup, Single Rear Wheel PickupNew 2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD,Heavy-duty Pickup, Single Rear Wheel Pickup

Chevrolet Silverado HD is being thoroughly revised for 2011 model year. Apart from a few nuts, bolts and badges, all of this heavy-duty pickup arrangement has changed. As usual GMC Sierra HD is basically the same vehicle with different labels. There will be 11 different models in 2500 (sometimes called the 3 / 4 ton) and 3500 of eight models (sometimes called a one-ton). Vinyl floor WT (Work Truck) for the luxury LTZ trim level offered, and the new 3500 Crew Cab short bed (6.5 feet) model will be available.

The 2011 Chevy Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD pickups get a fully-boxed frame for additional rigidity. This may present problems such as pegs to attach certain aftermarket parts, extra fuel tank or exchange the box for the bed services, but more rigid frame should translate into a smoother ride and handling responses rack.Perhaps inspired by the Kodiak medium-duty / TopKick trucks, Silverado 2010 HD has a hood, a larger higher and larger air holes in the grille and bumper for added cooling. The new trucks come with a little more subtle: The cab uses the vehicle containing liquid (such as the 2009 GM and 2010 Ram 1500 HD) to ride better. Extended-cab rear doors swing 170 degrees. Seat chest pelvis airbags / side curtain airbags and available on the 2500HD. And most cell phone models will offer Wi-Fi, USB port, Bluetooth and OnStar.

Larger wheels for brake size has increased substantially (from 12.8 to 14 inches in diameter), and while the suspension design is similar to past models have been reinforced components using forged steel and cast iron. Axle shafts, bearings and other bits receive the same kind of upgrade. Trailer sway control, and electronic stability control on a single rear wheel pickup, is standard.

Power comes from two new engines that sound the same as before, gasoline 6-liter Vortec V8 and 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel V8. 6-liter has been perfected and must be equal or better the previous rating of 353 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque to compete with the 383-hp HEMI Ram and Ford's new 6.2-liter. gas engines come with GM's 6L90 six-speed fatter-automatic.

The Duramax, LML present generation, is capable of B20 biodiesel (although GM did not specify whether this is a fleet-only) and is expected to generate more than 365 hp and 665 lb.-ft. Duramax torque last year. Cold-start ability is not cited more than three seconds to wait at -20 degrees F, and the liquid additive tank of diesel should last 5000 miles.

Diesel is supported by the Allison 1000-series six-speed automatic was redesigned to handle 30 percent more torque than the previous iteration. Allison Transmission also controls the new exhaust brake system that works with the cruise control. We do not expect GM to offer a manual transmission in HD.

Specification rules in heavy-duty pickups, the ongoing war is not permanent win. And the Silverado 2011 has been quite muscular in that regard, with the maximum load by about half a tonne to £ 6,335, the maximum combined gross (truck, trailer, passenger, cargo) at £ 27,500, the maximum vehicle gross weight (all except the trailer) from £ 13,000, maximum five-wheel or gooseneck trailer 20,000 pounds, and tow hitch integrated carry-back tow rating to 16,000 pounds. Expected Pricing $26,000-$60,000.
